Barry's Tribute Fund

Created by Greg 16 years ago
Welcome to the Barry Hammond Tribute Fund. I have created this page to help raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association in memory of my father who passed away on August 7th 2005 after a 3 year battle with the disease. Barry was born in 1940 and worked as a skilled Engineering in a number of companies. He was a keen chess player and at GKN Technology managed the company chess team and annual lightning chess tournament. Over the last 10 years he has spent most of his free time gardening and became a regular member of the Wolverhampton Ramblers, to be found trekking the highways and byways in the Midlands area. He has even tried his hand at a spot of cookery and re-kindled his passion for good old Rock and Roll dancing. Barry showed true strength and dignity in handling the illness and we are all proud of how he stood up to the disease and continued to be as active as he could, especially over the last year when mobility was difficult. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Please consider making an online donation to the Motor Neurone Disease Association, which funds care and research for people affected by Motor Neurone Disease across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, or if you prefer you can help me raise money for this Tribute Fund by creating an online sponsorship page to mark a special event or occasion. All money raised on these pages will be earmarked as being donations made via this Tribute Fund when they reach Motor Neurone Disease Association. Simply choose one of the links above to see what you can do. If you like, you can also sign the guest book and tell other people about this service. Kind Regards, Greg Hammond
